Gardening your way through lockdown
Posted on July 04 2020
The past couple of months have been tough for all of us. No one could have imagined that 2020 would be such an unpredictable year and with so many things going on the world.
Trying to be in control of your emotions and mental health has proved to be increasing difficult. Many of us have used our time in lockdown to read and educate ourselves on prejudice and inequality within our society. One way that has allowed me to stay focused and centred is to sit outside and mediate on my balcony surrounded by my plants. Now, this may sound crazy but there's something about being around nature that is so calming to the soul.
Simply taking out the time to prune and tend to my plants has added a sense of routine and purpose to the mundane and I encourage you all to explore adding plants to your homes. The create a great ambience and with keep you feeling productive and motivated.
A separate post will be added to explain my support and feelings to the Black Lives Matter movement so please read that if you are interested.
For now stay safe and I hope to write to you all soon.
